Aluminium - WikiMili, The Best Wikipedia Reader

2020-8-17 · Aluminium coines characteristics of pre- and post-transition metals. Since it has few available electrons for metallic bonding, like its heavier group 13 congeners, it has the characteristic physical properties of a post-transition metal, with longer-than-expected interatomic distances. [20] Furthermore, as Al 3+ is a small and highly charged ion, it is strongly polarizing and aluminium

Which Metals Are the Heaviest? | Sciencing

Osmium and iridium are the most dense metals. In other words, their atoms are packed together more tightly in solid form than other metals. With a density of 22.6 g/cm 3 and 22.4 g/cm 3 respectively, osmium and iridium are about twice as dense as lead, which has a density of 11.3 g/cm 3.Osmium and iridium were both discovered by English chemist Smithson Tennant in 1803.
